Mixed Emotions

Grief has a way of paralyzing your soul. Things
that use to be so easy and natural to do can
often become painful and extremely difficult.
Updating Nick's website is one of those aspects
of my life that has been impossible for the last
month. I come here from time to time and find
myself looking through the photo archives and
becoming overwhelmed with great sadness......I
know that day will come when my tears will be
turned to laughter but for now, I am not going to
pretend that I am not heartbroken. Nick was such
a great kid! His smile, his energy, his passion
for life were all contagious! We miss him in our
house every minute of every day. We cry. We
laugh. And then we cry some more. But, I do
want you to know that Nick's legacy is going to
have as much passion, as many smiles, and as much
energy as his life did! We are going to keep
Nick's spirit alive as we press on in our walks
with the Lord. Nick would want nothing less!
So, I wanted to let you know that we have
established the Nicholas Yancy Nischan
Foundation. You can read more about it at
www.nicholasyancynischanfoundation.blogspot.com.
Please keep us in your prayers as we get this
ministry up and running! Please keep us in your
prayers as we walk the road of grief striving to
keep our eyes fixed on the finish line! A line
Nick simply crossed before us! (And why are we
surprised!? He was just that kind of kid!) God
bless you all!

Nick is in Heaven Waiting For Us

I am sorry it has taken me so long to post this
message. This week has been a blur. Nick went
home to be the Lord last Saturday at 11:50 a.m.
He went peacefully and as God and Nick would have
it, all of his brothers as well as Tim and I, my
mom, my brother and many friends from church were
all here with him......whispering in his ear that
it was okay to go. I remember whispering names
of others he knew who were there - especially his
sister whom he had never met but had asked about
often. I remember telling him I
would be there soon. Oh, sweet Nick, we will
miss you until that glorious day we are
reunited. I will share more about how Nick will
continue to touch this world very soon. Please
come back to check on his legacy. Until then, I
share daily on my blog.
www.tammynischan.blogspot.com. Thank you for
praying us through the past 6 1/2 years. I don't
know how we would have made it without all of you
and without the love of the Lord and without the
hope of Heaven. God was with us every step of
the way. He was with Nick too and now is in a
very real and exciting way. The only arms I
could place my precious son in for eternity are
the arms of His Heavenly Father. Thank you,
Lord, for keeping him safe and loved for me.
Thank you.

Your Prayers are Getting Nick Through Each New Day!

If you could see Nick, your heart might break in
some ways. The tumors are so visible all over his
precious head. He is definitely weak. HOWEVER, if
you could talk with Nick you would be encouraged.
He is the same Nick you have always known and
loved. He is still so funny. He is still so
positive. If I say, "You're amazing!" He replies,
"I know." If I say, "You are surrounded by
angels." He nods his head in agreement with a
little smile. He is precious. We praise God for
every night of peaceful sleep and every day of
life! Our huge prayer request this weekend is that
Nick will regain enough strength for the trip to
Detroit for Thanksgiving. Please pray for Nick in
the upcoming days. Thank you so much! We are
praying the tumors begin to shrink and that God can
reclaim the cells in Nick's body-destroying the bad
and multiplying the good!!!!!!!!!!!!! God has the
power!!! We will not stop believing in a continued
miracle as we feel blessed to live with one each
and every day! Nick has been prayed for by so many
and we count it a blessing to have each of you
praying for Nick in a mighty way. Thank you! And
thank you Christ Temple Church for your prayers of
healing this week as I attended your amazing
service and as you came to our home and prayed over
Nick and laid hands on him. Thank you, thank you,
thank you........God bless all of you who check in
on Nick!

Keep Praying

Just wanted to post a little note to say that
Nick, while weak, is still fighting with an
attitude of peace and joy. He keeps us
laughing. He is such a special boy! Please
continue to pray that God will lay His healing
hand on Nick and release the tumors throughout
his body. We need a miracle, and we will not
stop praying for one! Thank you for continuing to
pray this same pray with us. God bless you all
with a wonderful week! Love, Tammy and Tim and
family

Friday Fasts for Nick and Natalie

We are asking all prayer warriors to consider
fasting on part or all of Fridays (or any day that
suits your personal schedule) in order to send
concentrated prayers up for Nick and for Natalie.
They both need miracles! We believe they are
already both miracles in so many ways and are
thankful to call them our children! Thank you for
every prayer! Love, The Nischans and Natalie's family

Another Good Day!

I remember when Nick was having MRIs every 3 months
and then every 6 months and then finally once a
year! I was so happy. Then suddenly we were back
where we started and once again Nick's MRIs turned
to once every three months and eventually were
shortened to just a month apart. I remember saying
to a friend, "We will just have to live one month
at a time.....really we're only suppose to live one
day at a time anyway." Well, a year and a half has
passed, and now we are truly at a time in Nick's
journey when we are living "ONE DAY AT A TIME." In
some ways it is so difficult. In other ways it is
so freeing. I am reminded of a passage that I love
in 2 Corinthians. 2 Corinthians 4:7-14
7But we have this treasure in jars of clay to show
that this all-surpassing power is from God and not
from us. 8We are hard pressed on every side, but
not crushed; perplexed, but not in despair;
9persecuted, but not abandoned; struck down, but
not destroyed. 10We always carry around in our body
the death of Jesus, so that the life of Jesus may
also be revealed in our body. 11For we who are
alive are always being given over to death for
Jesus' sake, so that his life may be revealed in
our mortal body. 12So then, death is at work in us,
but life is at work in you.

13It is written: "I believed; therefore I have
spoken."With that same spirit of faith we also
believe and therefore speak, 14because we know that
the one who raised the Lord Jesus from the dead
will also raise us with Jesus and present us with
you in his presence.

We believe and therefore we speak..........God is
with us on every good and every difficult day.
Thank you, Lord, for keeping Your Word!!!

Thank you for continuing to pray!!!!!!!!!!!!

Each morning offers hope as Nick walks downstairs
on his own ready to conquer another day of life.
Your prayers keep us going. God's love gives us
strength and peace. Just wanted to say that we love
you all so much. I will be adding more pictures
soon! Our middle school just dedicated the
soon-to-be-built football field to Nick at its
ground-breaking ceremony. We took pictures, but
they are on my computer which I am unable to access
at this time. The field is going to be named the
"Raider Battlefield...of Courage and Strength!" in
honor of Nick, and they are going to place his
favorite memory verse (Joshua 1:9) on a special
rock at the entrance to the field. We are thankful
that Nick's strength and courage along with God's
promise to be with us wherever we go will be able
to inspire middle school kids for years to come!
Keep praying. God is continuing his miracle work
in and through Nick. We love you all so much. For
a different perspective on this journey, please go

Nick has had a great week!!

We are thankful beyond words for your every
prayer. While we see the tumors visibly growing
on Nick's head, we are amazed and thankful that
his spirit remains amazingly strong, his smile
and laugh continue to brighten our day, and his
strength seems to continue to increase! He walks
up and down the stairs now with no problem. He
went to a movie and out to eat today with Tim and
Erich!! No Wheelchair!!!!!!!!!!!! He is a
miracle............pleae pray that God will
complete this miracle with total healing. We
love you all so much!
